Each local commercial radio station in the UK has requirements in respect of its music and local content, such as news, speech levels etc. These requirements are set out in the station "Format", a document issued by Ofcom, the UK's radio regulator. This Public File contains details of the elements that Ofcom regulate, such as music tracks, local news etc. It is intended to give you a better understanding of our output and what we are doing for our local community.
News:
Radio Broadland provides hourly local news bulletins from 06:00-19:00 inclusive Monday to Friday, with half-hour bulletins between 06:30-08:30 on weekdays. At all other times, a 90 second bulletin from IRN is broadcast. Breakfast and Drive bulletins last 4 minutes. Bulletins are 2 minutes in the daytime.
On Saturdays, local news bulletins are broadcast between 7am and 1pm inclusive with IRN output at all other times. On Sundays local news bulletins are read between 8am and 1pm inclusive with IRN bulletins at all other times. Weekend bulletins are 2 minutes in duration.

All of Radio Broadland's weekday peaktime output (0600-1000, 1300-1900) output is produced and presented from our local studios. Our peak time Weekend morning shows (0800-1200 Saturday and Sunday) are also produced and presented from our local studios.
Off peak programming (Kevin Hughes, The Wind Down, Pat Sharp, Phillippa Collins, Jo Russell, Early Breakfast, Mark Dennison, Jason Donovan, Party Anthems, hit40uk) is produced at various studios, owned and operated by Radio Broadland's parent company GCap Media plc.

RADIO BROADLAND is pleased to support a wide range of local charities supporting children and young people by raising money through regular year-round on and off-air events and activities.
radio broadland kids is the station's charity appeal. It raises money to help disadvantaged youngsters in Norfolk & north Suffolk. The charity works with local organisations to improve young people's opportunity, independence, ability, choice and confidence.
radio broadland kids funds projects benefiting children and young people up to the age of 18. Money is raised from events, sponsorships and donations. Grants are then made throughout the year to help local projects that will give children a better life.
